Medical Peels
The Skin Renewal Peel Program
Skin Renewal peel program is a non-surgical skin treatment that helps your skin appear healthier, cleaner, firmer and younger. It is used to improve: wrinkles, scars, acne in young people, large pores and spots (dark or light).
Professional Peels help reduce the depth of surface lines, smooth rough skin texture, fade brown spots and help in clearing acne/blemished skin resulting in beautiful and immediate results for most patients. It is achieved by stimulating the deep layers of your skin while shedding damaged, superficial cells.
Who can benefit from Peels?
- Most age groups -Most skin colors (white, oriental, black, etc.)
- Most skin types (thick or thin, oily or dry)
- Not just the face, but also for other areas of the body, such as the hands, neck, chest, etc.
This treatment usually:
- Causes no pain, only some discomfort
- Produces natural, younger looking, refined skin
- Skin remains normal in color
The Peel Program:
A combination of skin products is carefully selected for you by our medical aesthetician, to be used morning and night. They include: Cleansers, astringents, exfoliatives, stimulators, color blenders, sunscreens, moisturizers, anti-irritants, and sun screen. This program is usually followed for 6 to 8 weeks. Initially, you may look worse. Your skin will shed and appear red and feel dry and sensitive. Spots may appear darker than before. Within a few days you will have a more even and smooth skin texture.
For optimum results, patients require a series of six peels spaced 2 weeks apart. Mild itching, shedding and redness may appear afterwards. These symptoms are relatively painless. Your skin gradually improves after the peel, usually you can be presentable in 3 days (in the case of "light" and "medium" peels). You are required to follow a home maintenance routine with products that have been selected for your specific skin type and issue. Your appearance will continue to improve steadily following each peel. Therefore, be patient!
Your skin will be sun sensitive after a chemical peel therefore sunscreen with a high physical block is a must. In the future, to preserve your skin from the continuing effects of the daily aging process, you may need a "light" peel every 6 months, in order to keep your skin in optimum condition.
Peels in combination with microdermabrasion are also a great way to maintain your new and improved skin.
