Most skin areas and all skin types can be treated.  The most  popular areas are the face, neck, chest, between the breasts and hands.

The procedure normally takes 15 minutes for small areas and up to 45 minutes depending on the size of the area treated. A topical anesthetic be applied before the treatment to ensure patient comfort during the procedure. Profractional treatments are typically done in a series of 2 - 6 treatments depending on what is being treated.  These treatments are spaced 3-6 weeks apart.

Immediately following the Profractional procedure you will experience mild redness, resembling a light sunburn sensation. Complete healing takes only about 3 - 4 days and most patients can get back to work and apply makeup within 3 days after the procedure.

Pre-treatment of the skin for a minimum of 3 weeks prior to treatment with Obagi Nu-Derm medical skin care is required to stabilize melanocytes for prevention of post inflammatory hyperpigmentation.

Post-treatment instructions will include Obagi skin medical skin care to care for and prevent damage to the new skin being formed. The new skin will be more sensitive to sun exposure after the procedure and Obagi sunscreen is to be worn at all times during the day.

The fees for Profactional procedures start from $400 for small areas and increase depending on the size of the area to be treated.
